Aerial Delivery Systems – Marine
The aerial delivery of Rigid Inflatable Boats (RIBs) followed by Special Forces Troops has been in service for the last 30 years and is used for Special Maritime Operations, Maritime Counter Terrorism, Anti-Piracy and Search and Rescue operations.
Airborne Systems is the only company providing the Maritime Craft Aerial Delivery System MCADS to military and Special Forces worldwide. This MCADS system allows RIB’s from 6.5m to 12m in length to be air dropped, followed by parachutists, who land close to the craft then board and get underway in minutes.
For training use the system is designed such that the air drop platform, parachutes and all ancillary equipment are rigged to float so they can be recovered, inspected, maintained, repaired if required and reused, thereby make this a very cost effective system. For covert operations all equipment can be rigged to sink leaving no trace of the troops/boat insertion.
Airborne Systems works directly with the RIB manufacturers to ensure the craft interfaces with the airdrop system and the overall rigged load meets the airworthiness safety criteria of the air drop aircraft and the aviation regulations of the country utilising the system.
