Aerial Delivery – Land
Airborne Systems supplies parachutes and aerial delivery systems for the airdrop of combat supplies, stores, humanitarian aid and vehicles onto land drop zones. Loads weighing from 23kg (50lb) to 16,000kg (35,200lb) can be airdropped using a range of parachutes, airdrop platforms and ancillary rigging equipment.
Land Aerial Delivery systems can be grouped into three categories as detailed below:
- Light Weight
- Medium Weight
- Heavy Weight
Light Weight Loads
Light weight airdrop loads range from 23kg (50lb) to 1336kg (2,500lb). The airdrop supplies are rigged into loads using a variety of straps, harnesses or nets and a range of cargo airdrop parachutes are used depending on the weight of the load. These loads can be dropped from the side parachute door or the ramp of fixed wing aircraft and can be rigged as individual bundles to resupply small patrols to mass resupply using Container delivery System (CDS) loads. Airborne Systems can supply all the equipment and parachutes required to rig and air drop these loads.
Medium Weight Loads
Medium weight airdrop loads ranging from 1336kg (2,500lb) to 8,100kg (18,000lb) can be dropped rigged onto an airdrop platform. These loads include light to medium weight vehicles and equipment and combat supplies. Airborne Systems can supply the complete airdrop system including platforms, parachutes and all ancillary load rigging equipment.
Heavy Weight Loads
Heavy weight airdrop loads ranging from 8,100kg (18,000lb) to 16,000kg (35,200lb) can be rigged onto an airdrop platform. These loads include medium to heavy weight wheeled of tracked vehicles and engineer plant equipment. Airborne Systems can supply the complete airdrop system including platforms, parachutes and all load ancillary rigging equipment.Airborne Systems provides customers with a single point of supply for the complete range of airdrop systems and also provides the follow support:
